Biblical Basis of Our Work

The Word of God vital for Growth

Christians are very much people of the written word and God has used good literature in the past to build up his church. We also need to value what the Holy Spirit has taught Christians in this past and to build on this.

Next to the Bible we see Christian books as a necessary part of our growth as Christians.

Christians need to be fully equipped to meet the needs and challenges of a non Christian world.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:2)

Torrey – "Next to the word of God I would name the biographies of fellow Christians as the single greatest blessing in my life."

 

Assisting the Saints in Need is Commanded

Giving and Assisting the Saints in Need is a Biblical Command.
Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
(Romans 12:13)

 

Given what Christ has done for us we too need to minister to those in need also.

If our brother is in need we need to help (James 2:15-16)

We are part of a wider body & this includes mutual dependency. "From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."

(Eph. 4:16)

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it. 

(1 Cor. 12:26)
